From 18 May until 30 June, the Kunsthal Café is being renovated. Therefore, the food and beverage offering is temporarily limited. A small refreshment area with drinks and a limited selection is available in the Auditorium. After the renovations, the renewed Kunsthal Café will open, developed together with food curator Perry de Man.
The Kunsthal was designed in 1988-1989 by the world-famous architect Rem Koolhaas together with project architect Fuminori Hoshino of the Rotterdam architectural firm OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture). The architecture immediately attracts great international attention due to, among other things, the innovative use of materials, the location of the entrance and the steep ramps. The Kunsthal was officially opened on 1 November 1992. The sturdy building offers seven different exhibition halls, a characteristic Auditorium and an atmospheric Kunsthal café.
